The Story Behind A Book Bite
A Book Bite is my passion project—and honestly, it’s still very much a work in progress.
It started as a school project, but I didn’t want to leave it there. The idea felt too real, too needed, and way too fun to just submit and move on from. So I kept going.
A Book Bite is a romance discovery platform built for readers who want more than just star ratings and vague summaries. It’s designed to help people find books based on what they’re actually looking for—tropes, vibes, spice levels, and all the things we don’t always say out loud.
Because let’s be real:
Sometimes you’re not looking for a “good book.”
You’re looking for a very specific experience.
The goal is to create a space where users can:
Search by tropes, themes, and preferences
Discover new authors without digging through multiple platforms
Rate books based on real reader experience (including spice)
Explore without judgment
From a design perspective, I’m focusing on making it feel fun, intuitive, and a little bold—something that reflects the energy of the community it’s built for.
Since this is an ongoing project, I’m constantly iterating: testing ideas, refining features, and building out the experience piece by piece. This isn’t a finished product—and that’s kind of the point. A Book Bite is something I’m growing over time, both as a designer and as a reader. I’m not done with it anytime soon.
